Help with knife crime prevention

Parents and carers can really help with knife crime prevention by talking through the issues with their children. If your child is involved in a gang they may be scared and not want to talk about it. It is important that they know you want to listen and support them. Make sure they know they have a choice.

Making sure they know what knife crime is and that they understand how upset you’d be if they got caught with a knife or got injured can have a big impact.

Education is key for prevention of young people carrying knives and involving themselves in serious youth violence.  Having the conversation may help your child feel more comfortable talking to you about any concerns they have now or may have in the future.
